We shall look at the different way of defending an argument between Japanese and people in the Western countries for essays. On the other hand, people in the U.K. start from their main ideas and then state further, using concrete examples and data, in order to support their main idea. Changing the ground in an essay is regarded as lack of consistency and is not highly evaluated. Thus, Japanese had better start from the body part of the essay when you write usual essays (intro-body-conclusion) in the U.K. It is difficult for usual Japanese to start from the Intro part which should include the consistent idea through the essay.
